چکیده

In this work an alternative approach to the modelling of plates with a large number of holes, is presented. By means of plate theory, it is shown that perforated plates can be modelled by conventional orthotropic plates with modified elastic properties. The modification of the elastic constants is derived by equalising the strain-energy of the perforated and the orthotropic plate. The model obtained is then compared with previous methods and applied in the electromechanical simulation of a silicon micromachined microphone structure. The microphone structures are simulated numerically, using an algoritbm based on finite differences.

A High Sensitivity Polysilicon Diaphragm Condenser Microphone

This paper presents the analysis, design, fabrication, and testing of a condenser microphone utilizing a thin low-stress polycrystalline silicon diaphragm suspended above a p+ perforated back plate. The microphone is fabricated using a combination of surface and bulk micromachining techniques in a single wafer process without the need of wafer bonding. The device shows sensitivities of -34 dB (...

Graphene "microdrums" on a freestanding perforated thin membrane for high sensitivity MEMS pressure sensors.

We present a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) graphene-based pressure sensor realized by transferring a large area, few-layered graphene on a suspended silicon nitride thin membrane perforated by a periodic array of micro-through-holes. Each through-hole is covered by a circular drum-like graphene layer, namely a graphene "microdrum". The uniqueness of the sensor design is the fact that int...
